A director, actor and producer, CASSIDY SADLER began working with Alumnae Theatre at age 17 in the 2012 New Ideas Festival. This year marks her tenth anniversary with the company. Cassidy is passionate about new works, immersive experiences, and experimental theatrical forms. She has performed in London, New York, and across the Canadian Prairies. She is a permanent company member of Live History, whose site-specific work can be seen internationally. Cassidy is currently the Interim Production Manager at Roseneath Theatre. Additional credits include: A Tonic for Desperate Times (Theatre Gargantua); The Curious Voyage (DopoLavoro Teatrale/Talk is Free Theatre); The Pride of Life and Mankind (Poculi Ludique Societas/Stan’s Cafe/Metropolitan Museum of Art); Tideline (Hart House Theatre); If You Know Emmaline (Paraphrased Productions/St. Joseph’s Hospital).

Nicholas Porteous is an actor and filmmaker based in Toronto. He won the 48-Hour Filmmaking Project with Object Relations and filmed the Doras as well as cutting Pokémon Apokélypse and School of Thrones--which have collectively been viewed over 17 million times. Most of those views are his mom. Recently, you can hear him as the voice of Mr. Cooper on Luna, Chip, and Inkie: Adventure Rangers Go. A good chunk of his work can be found on youtube.com/noveltyhat.

Nicholas Simmons is a professional videographer with experience in both the worlds of broadcasting and theatre. His interest in both fields began in high school, and continued in the RTA School of Media with an emphasis on live broadcasts. Since moving to Toronto in late 2011, he has worked on productions with the Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre, the Lower Ossington Theatre, and T.Y.T. Theatre, both backstage and behind the camera. He has also worked as a camera operator with the Ontario Hockey League, as a videographer and director at concerts across Ontario, and as a director for livestreams ranging from musical performances to meet-and-greets with Santa Claus.

Alexander DeSouza is an assistant picture editor and editor. As an editor and assistant, Alexander has worked on a variety of shows, having managed the delivery of more than 50 hours of television to networks around the world, including CBC, Discovery Channel, Super Channel, Hollywood Suite, and UKTV. As an assistant editor, Alexander has helped develop post-production workflows for shows produced by companies such as Go Button Media and Corus Entertainment’s SODA agency. Alexander holds a BFA in Film from York University and is a member of the Directors Guild of Canada, the Canadian Cinema Editors Association, and the Canadian Screen Academy.

Theresa spends most of her theatre time at The Village Players in the Bloor West Village. She has done numerous costume and set designs for them and won a Thea for set design for Late Company in 2019. She found it challenging to create a set that would satisfy the needs of such disparate plays and hopes it adds to your enjoyment of this festival. Special thanks to all the build and paint crew, most of whom are new to ATC.

Jim Smagata is a graduate of Brock University with a BA in Drama. He was the Technical Director of the theatre at Grande Prairie Regional College for 9 years. Jim served as Technical Director, Lighting and Set Designer, Box Office Manager and Stagecraft Instructor for the Theatre and Drama Studies program at the University of Toronto Mississauga until his retirement in 2019 after 25 years. Jim has designed lights and sound for hundreds of productions and continues to provide lighting designs to various professional and amateur theatres, with his passion for audio drama and model building dividing his time.

Evander Jack Dewar is an artist from the Niagara Region. Having recently graduated from the University of Windor's BFA in Acting program, he has taken a special interest in playwriting and production design. Recent credits include Wyatt in Good White Men, written by David Yee and directed by Sebastien Heins, and Jed in his self written and directed show Jedidiah and the Forest Colossus. He has treasured every moment learning more about his craft on such an exciting project and hopes all in attendance have a great time. Cheers!

Matthew Bird Loreto is a graduate of what’s now called OCAD University and has been a freelance animator, motion designer, and video content producer for over thirteen years. He has worked with a variety of clients ranging from provincial and federal labour unions to large commercial clients such as BMV, Shopify, and McDonalds, to name only a small few. With an interest in many hobbies and creative pursuits, Loreto is most fulfilled engaging with community and meeting new and interesting people.
