The Importance of Being Earnest
New Ideas Festival
BY MICHAEL JACOBS
Produced by Mary Barnes Amoroso, Arlene Stanley and Kristine Greenaway
Directed by Nicole Arends
April 12 - April 27, 2019 on the Mainstage
Surrounded by impressionist paintings, colleagues Katharine, gallery owner, and Thomas, photojournalist, revisit painful memories. As they banter and spar, they come to realize that if they can step away from the current canvas of their lives, their futures just might hold more depth than the past. This romantic comedy blends pathos, intellect, and wit, and debuted on Broadway with Joan Allen and Jeremy Irons.
